In 2023, we were delighted to receive substantial support from BBD quantity surveyors through their sponsorship of two pink dragon boats. These brand new boats were owned by Wellington Festival but their bespoke graphics linked CanSurvive Club to our new sponsors, BBD. Thanks to this terrific community support from BBD, who have offices in Auckland and Wellington, our Club stood out even more on the water! The colour of the boats highlighted our strong links to Breast Cancer (BC) and helped us demonstrate that many BC survivors can still engage in sport – at social and competitive levels - and encourage each other. Furthermore, we acknowledged the support and competition we receive from our non-BC club members. We also enjoyed seeing other clubs and schools using “our” pink boats and showing them off in Wellington Harbour.
